Kurrajong Craft by Norma
Using the colours, textures and culture of the bush as my inspiration, I have enjoyed creating artistic works for many years.
With an interest in miniatures and paintwork, I was initially intrigued by decorative Faberge eggs, some of which are included in the slideshow below. Beginning with goose egg jewellery boxes, I have since progressed to ostrich and emu egg creations in the form of commemorative wedding and anniversary eggs, themed pieces with hinged doors and miniature settings, as well as musical jewellery boxes.
An interest in Folk Art painting developed from the paintwork involved in Faberge eggs, and I continue to enjoy creating new Folk Art works such as the Waterbird painting set seen in the slideshow. A peristent favourite is the replication of the Australian bush lifestyle in Folk Art, with the Bush Cottage Handsaw representing an example of this style. Another opportunity to capture the bush was found in Pyrography, with the use of a wood burner to add depth to my sketches of Australian scenes. More recently, the range of rustic colours common to corrugated tin sheds inspired the use of rusty tin to represent anything from the dappled coats of Clydesdale horses to the feathers of the Kookaburra.
Please Contact Us for any questions about my Faberge Eggs, Folk Art, Pyrography, Rusty Tin designs or any other request for an artistic creation. Any creative challenge is welcome!
